JAMB Mathematics tests your problem-solving speed and accuracy across a wide range of topics. It is one of the most scoring subjects when properly prepared — many topics follow fixed solution patterns that repeat every year.
Students who score 70+ in Mathematics typically focus heavily on past questions from the last 10 years, paying special attention to the worked solutions. The more you practise, the more shortcuts you internalise.

How to Improve in Mathematics
- Do not skip the theory sections — understanding why a formula works helps you apply it under pressure
- Work backwards from the answer options on multiple-choice to save time on tricky algebra
- Indices, logarithms and sequences appear almost every year — master these first
- Always use timed mode — JAMB gives you roughly 40 seconds per question
- Read every explanation after submission — this is where the real learning happens
Questions About JAMB Mathematics
Algebra, quadratic equations, indices and logarithms appear in virtually every year's paper. Statistics, probability and coordinate geometry are also very frequent. Calculus (differentiation and integration) appears in JAMB and post-UTME papers more often than many students expect.
Focus on the 5–6 topics that appear every year and make sure you can solve them confidently. Then do timed past question sessions — Mathematics rewards speed as much as accuracy. Aim to solve each question in under 90 seconds.
Select any year from the grid above to start a timed practice session. The quiz mirrors the real JAMB CBT format — questions displayed one at a time, a countdown timer, and automatic answer saving. After you submit, you get a detailed results page showing your score, which questions you got wrong, and explanations for each answer.
