JAMB Physics is challenging but very predictable. The same core topics appear year after year — mechanics, electricity, waves and optics account for over 60% of questions in most years.
The key to physics is understanding the underlying principles rather than memorising formulas in isolation. Once you understand Newton's laws, conservation of energy and electric circuit rules, a large portion of the paper becomes manageable.

How to Improve in Physics
- Write out all your formulas on a single sheet and review it daily — recognition is faster than derivation under exam pressure
- Mechanics (force, motion, energy) appears in every single year — master it before anything else
- Questions on electrical circuits follow standard patterns — practise Ohm's law and resistor combinations until they are automatic
- Always use timed mode — JAMB gives you roughly 40 seconds per question
- Read every explanation after submission — this is where the real learning happens
Questions About JAMB Physics
Mechanics (motion, force, energy, momentum) is the single largest topic and appears in every year's paper. Electricity (circuits, resistance, power) and waves (sound, light) are also very frequent. Modern physics (nuclear reactions, photoelectric effect) typically contributes 5–8 questions.
JAMB does not allow physical calculators — calculations are done on-screen using the built-in calculator. WAEC theory papers allow calculators. Either way, practice mental estimation so you can quickly check if a calculated answer is in the right ballpark.
Select any year from the grid above to start a timed practice session. The quiz mirrors the real JAMB CBT format — questions displayed one at a time, a countdown timer, and automatic answer saving. After you submit, you get a detailed results page showing your score, which questions you got wrong, and explanations for each answer.
